Lewis Memorial Baptist Church (LMBC) was established in 1942 with a vision of sharing the Gospel of Jesus with the Tri-State region. The church's name is in honor of the traveling preacher, James Lewis, whose 1940s revival meetings inspired the creation of this new church body. Originally, the fellowship met in a small building along Route 60 at the base of Irwin road.

As the church body grew, the need for a new, larger building grew as well. Thus came the construction 

While worshiping and growing together in groups is vital, our goal as LMBC, is to reach out with His love to those who do not know Him. Our television ministry, The Daily Walk, reaches thousands every week. We also reach outside the church physically, in a variety of practical ways such as hosting after-school clubs in some of the local elementary schools, as well as filling backpacks weekly for needy children in local schools. We also have a brown-bag program for prostitutes, a food and clothing pantry that ministers to the community, and a group that regularly takes food and clothing to those who can't come to the church.

While the style of our worship has certainly changed over the years, our purpose remains the same: to make disciples who live and love like Jesus. Every building, ministry, outreach, activity, and service is built around that mission.
