June 2024 - Surgery update #1
1 June 2024 (The second update follows this one - don't miss it)
Tom and Marilyn Wilson

Just a quick update regarding Tom’s surgery. As it turned out Tom didn’t have the shoulder surgery this past Monday as was planned.

After being admitted, prepped and taken to the theatre, the anesthesiologist was a bit concerned about something he saw on the ECG and felt it was better to postpone the surgery until Tom’s cardiologist could do some further tests.

Tom has been wearing a heart monitor this week and after the doctor looked at the results he has given the go ahead for Tom to have the shoulder replacement surgery this coming Monday (June 3rd).

Thank you for your prayers and emails of encouragement. Please continue to pray for the surgeon and for a speedy recovery so that Tom can have relief from the pain and regain full use of his arm.

We will keep you updated.

June 2024: Surgery Update #2
6 June 2024
Tom and Marilyn Wilson

Just another follow up on Tom’s shoulder replacement surgery. The surgery went ahead as scheduled on Monday and after one night in ICU he was moved to the general ward for another night. We were able to bring him home yesterday!

The surgeon was very happy with the surgery and now it is a matter of rest and physical therapy. Tom is in great spirits and loved all the opportunities he had to witness to the doctors and staff at the hospital. In the ward they called him "John" (3:16).

We have had a wonderful support system here as well as so many encouraging emails from you. So many have assured us of their prayers and we are so grateful. Having Wes and April here at this time has been a real blessing.

Please continue to pray for a speedy recovery. Tom should be able to take the sling off on his birthday, July 14th, and be able to drive again!
