We are incredibly blessed by your partnership in the Gospel with us from the very beginning. Together we have seen how God has been establishing His Church among the Paĩ. It has been very encouraging that God has recently raised up one of the Bible teachers to serve in leadership as an ordained pastor in the Church. At the end of this past year, the church requested membership into an indigenous evangelical church association. They were accepted for membership and have identified various leaders in the local church fellowship. This organization provides the church with greater legal protection in Paraguay. With the gradual transferring of responsibilities, we have been seeing our roles changing and trusting the Lord for continued direction.
Recently, there has been a turn of events in our specific location. Due to some complex political issues that exist in Paraguay, it has become increasingly dangerous for us to remain in our current location. This has been progressing over time, but there has been an acceleration this past year that has resulted in our need to relocate to a nearby city in order to continue ministry. This decision has not been taken lightly or without a multitude of wise counselors. We have had the counsel of local believers, law enforcement officials, church pastors, as well as from our partnering organizations; P4P, Nanduti, and Ethnos360.
Our plans are to continue training, equipping, and discipleship hand in hand with Pai and national ministers along with our current ministry team; albeit from the nearby city. We believe that this will be an ideal location because of the ease of access the Paĩ have to this city. Many Pai already make regular trips to the city. Pray for us as we continue to dialogue with local Paraguayan churches, Nanduti, Ethnos360, and our board at Partners for Paraguay.
Because we were urged to evacuate quickly, we are currently living in a guest facility in the city together with Barb’s brother and family, and her cousin; who have been our ministry team for numerous years. We covet your prayers as we look to the Lord for a more long-term living situation, as well as spiritual, emotional, and physical stamina to walk peacefully and joyfully through the many transitions facing us and the church. We love you all and thank God for you and your constant care for our family
Thank you all for your support
