Due to inclement weather, the 9 a.m. service for Sunday, Jan. 20 has been cancelled. We will have one morning service at 10:45 a.m. as road conditions improve.

Update from the Humphrey Family (New Zealand)

'For our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.' Phil 3:20

We certainly look forward to that day when our Saviour comes and takes us back to our home in heaven!  May it be soon!

What a busy and blessed ministry we had in 2020 in spite of Covid-19.  A small, isolated country like New Zealand has the ability to 'stop the spread' of Covid when it rears its ugly head.  There are Covid patients in managed isolation hotels throughout New Zealand, but for the past several months the virus has been contained from once again moving into the general public.   We continue to pray for all of you in the U.S.

Tommy is an owner of a cafe in the Central Business District of Auckland.  He told us last Sunday that his business is doing ok.  It was very difficult for him during the Covid lockdowns when he had rent to pay yet could not open for business.  Looking at his cafe records, he said that he was surprised to see that God had provided for him and his family over what he expected.  Tommy is quick to give all the praise and glory to the Lord!  He has a heart for the Lord and is growing rapidly.  He has been spending time with his daughter Angela each week, helping her memorize the Bible verses that I assign.  This past Sunday, she memorized three new verses and recited them to me.  Angela is 8 years old and trusted Christ as her Saviour a few months ago.  She is a very sweet little girl and loves the Lord!

We have two men in their late thirties in our Bible study groups that are growing tremendously and are committed to serving the Lord and studying His Word!  We began ministering to these two men when they were students in their early twenties.  Having led both men and their spouses to the Lord and guided them in their Christian walk, it gives us great joy to see them grow in the Lord.

Micah and Maggie are expecting a baby boy in February.  They are in their early 40's and God has blessed them with a baby that they didn't plan.  Please pray for Micah and Maggie as they are having financial difficulties due to Covid.  They are in the travel/hospitality business,  mainly serving overseas Chinese travelers.  New Zealand is not currently allowing overseas travelers, so their business is on hold.  You may recall that we had the joy of leading them to Christ a few years ago.

Mihyon had a wonderful visit with Margaret.  She is doing much better now that her elder daughter Rebecca is taking good care of her.  Rebecca was at Margaret's home during Mihyon's visit and had a good talk with her.   Margaret had asked Mihyon to pray for and talk with Rebecca as she has some misunderstanding of the Bible.  Please pray that Mihyon will have an opportunity to share biblical truth with Rebecca and that she will be teachable.  Rebecca is quite strong in her beliefs.

As we enter our 23rd  year of foreign missionary service on January 29, we are thankful to God for His faithfulness, encouragement, and provision through faithful brothers and sisters like you.  We are grateful!

We continue to covet your prayers that God will use us for His glory and add many more to His Kingdom in heaven.  We love you all and thank God for you.

With grateful hearts,

John & Mihyon Humphrey
