Due to inclement weather, the 9 a.m. service for Sunday, Jan. 20 has been cancelled. We will have one morning service at 10:45 a.m. as road conditions improve.

Update from Megan Kuhn (Spain)

Megan to Madrid

Trusting in the God who provides...
I went for a brief hike recently at a local park. At the front of the park, there is a giant field, and right now, it is completely covered in wildflowers. Yellows, reds, purples, and whites; the scenery was like a deconstructed rainbow in a bed of green with a sky of blue. As I snapped some photos in the bright sunlight (photos above and below), the Holy Spirit brought to mind the passage in Matthew 6. "Don't worry, just trust Me," I could hear the Lord gently remind me. "Look at all these flowers! Kings are not dressed better than these! I craft and beautify every wildflower, and soon they will all dry out and wither because of the heat of summer. If I clothe these flowers with grace and beauty for only a few days, how much more will I take care of you and all that you need?" (paraphrase)

Pre-field Progress:
  • Visa: I'm getting closer to applying for my ministry visa; I'm waiting for a couple documents and then will be ready to schedule an appointment at the Spanish consulate in Chicago.
  • Ministry partners: The Lord has provided over 50% of my monthly support through many individuals and two churches so far!
  • Timing: Because of Covid, things are taking a longer time to get finished. The director at Evangelical Christian Academy in Spain is preparing for another elementary teacher to begin the school year, and then she hopes I can start teaching there in January. My new departure goal, instead of August, is October. I am still trying to get to Spain as soon as possible, to help with the church plant and other ministries, but this gives me more time on both ends (raising support here and getting adjusted there) before I start teaching full time at the school.

Praises and Prayer Requests:
 Praise! God's provision of many new ministry partners in June. So thankful for each of you!
Praise! I had the opportunity to be in my roommate's wedding on July 4th.
Praise! God sustaining me with good health.

Please Pray...
  • For the Lord to provide the rest of my support through more ministry partners in July and August (churches and individuals).
  • For safe travels and a productive trip to PA (ABWE headquarters for training). I will be driving up on Thursday, July 16th, and will return to Ohio on Sunday, July 26th.
  • For the rest of the documents I need for my visa to come in a timely manner so I can apply for my Visa in August.
  • That I would be able to use my time wisely in ministry, sharing with others, and preparing to serve overseas.
